Isn't he hysterical?  I LOVE kids with personality and these two had plenty of it, not to mention being gorgeous too (see their Mom & Dad)

So it turns out men do read my blog after all.  Who knew?  Congratulations Wade, I look forward to meeting you & your family soon!

fun "little" family

Most people want this family picture:

all eyes on the camera, everyone facing the same direction.  But when your children are still little:

doesn't this seem a lot more age appropriate and fun?

Because you know, they are never going to go for this when they are teenagers : )  

Stay tuned for the most fun sneak peek of a surprise Father's Day portrait session ever!  Although I highly doubt dads really read this blog.  As a matter of fact, I am so sure that I have predominantly female readers that I will give a free portrait session to the first dad (or dad to be) who emails me at vpphotgraphy@mac.com

I really liked this family & especially the mom.  She told me she wanted the good, the bad and the age appropriate meaning that her children are young and not all young children will sit still and smile at the camera.  We did get a few of those, but I really loved some of the "connection" shots we captured between family members.  I will take emotion over eyes looking into the camera any day, but that's just me : ) 

jordan + dane = true love

I love shooting engagement sessions.  Rarely do you have to coax smiles from the lovebirds and especially, as is normally the case, sing the entire repertoire of Elmo's greatest hits as I do on most toddler sessions : )   

I do get a little nervous when the couple tells me to capture their fun personalities. What if they only think they have fun personalities? 

That was not at all the case with Jordan & Dane- I could have photographed them all night- they were that fun to watch and not one forced smile.
